Keep that in mind - the "voter fraud" accusation. We will come back to that later in this diary. That is key.

More from the TPM report:
In emails obtained by TPM, the group Houston Votes was accused of being "a bunch of white guilt ridden assholes, NI****S and greasy mexican sp**s," "fraudulent Marxist pigs," and "American hating A-holes."
...
Houston Votes was targeted by the Texas Tea Party group King Street Patriots in their so-called anti-voter fraud effort "True The Vote."
(slurs redacted by diarist but TPM has the full text)
TMP has a VIDEO, and several of the emails:
"You liberial scumbags should be hung by the neck in public ! We are on to your voter fraud. Keep it up you MOTHER F***ERS and you will soon be put down for a long dirt nap! Your nothing but a bunch of white guilt ridden assholes, NI***RS and greasy mexican sp**s! The WAR is comming and we are going to dispose of each and every one of you while we take OUR (White) nation back."
(slurs redacted by the diarist)
Who or what could have incited these people to SUCH anger, SUCH hatred - and why? It is not clear at this point that emails came from any tea party group, however, the authorities are working on the matter and I am sure they will determine who sent the emails.
Thankfully, the Texas Democratic Party has filed an ethics complaint against King Street Patriots. Reading the complaint is truly frightening. The TDP alleges that the KSP have been operating with impunity - with little or no regard for election laws!:
It seeks monetary damages against the Houston-area Tea Party group for the "1960s style" voter intimidation it says has already occurred at the polls on the first day of early voting. The complaint also asks the court to halt what it characterizes as in-kind support of Republican candidates in violation of its nonprofit status. During a conference call with reporters, TDP lawyer Chad Dunn accused the group "blatantly ignoring our election laws" and said that, even in the first "three or four hours" of early voting, witnesses in minority precincts had reported representatives from the group "shouting misinformation" and "following voters and standing behind them" as they tried to vote. Dunn said TDP intended to release video of the incidents within the next few days. (Download the full complaint above.)
The American Independent reports:
A video shows Texas House District candidate Jim Murphy (R) engaging in political speech at a King Street Patriots event to which opponent state Rep. Kristi Thibaut (D) was not invited. In the video, Murphy talks about his candidacy for office, criticizes Thibaut numerous times and appeals to the audience for help with his campaign.
“I think it’s blatant electioneering. What the King Street Patriots are doing as a nonprofit is prohibited under law,” said Craig McDonald, director of nonprofit watchdog Texans for Public Justice. “If they want to do that kind of one-sided politicking, they need to be a political party or a political committee. They can’t hide behind nonprofit laws to do political campaigning.”
...
In the video, Engelbrecht introduces Murphy: “He is, as we all know now, up against Kristi Thibaut” — someone off-screen shouts “ACORN” — and Engelbrecht smiles and says, “Hmmm, really….”
...
Murphy begins his speech by thanking KSP for its work challenging voter applications sent in by nonprofit Houston Votes,
It is frightening if these people feel so justified in what they are doing that they could think the law does not apply to them. American Taliban. And yet they accuse others of voter fraud???
So getting back to the "voter fraud" aspect - why are these people SO convinced voter fraud is being conducted by the, ahem, fraudulent Marxist pigs and America hating A-holes?

Just look at the structure they have set up, and they type and nature of the information they are feeding down to people. What do they expect the logical result to be?
What does all of this add up to? The complete perversion of democracy, in my opinion.
I have to ask you to do one thing: Read the Complaint filed by the Texas Democratic Party. Then you will know what, unfortunately, could be happening to voters in your very neighborhood:
King Street Patriots and True the Vote appear to have spent substantial sums on materials, videos, national speakers, and personnel since at least May 2010 to recruite "conservative" poll watchers for the Harris County Republican Party. In May 2010, True the Vote brought David Horowitz, a nationally known right-wing commentator, to Houston to talk to a large audience about the importance ofdefeating Democrats and using poll watchers to prevent "rampant voter fraud". In an exchange with respondents' founder, Catherine Engelbrecht at that event, Horowitz states:
"In the next six months, the most important thing you need to do is True the Vote. Because election fraud is rampant. Here you have a chance to unseat some very bad people but you have to win the election by 3 to 5 points. This is what was told to me by a Democratic consultant who built the most powerful Democratic machine in my state - regrets it. He said you guys-the Republicans-don't win by 3 to 5 percent, we will steal that margin. So that's your immediate task."
(Video 4 of 6, starting at 4:00, at .... There are 6 videos ofthe Horowitz event and all are relevant and incorporated into this complaint....
Poll watching is a centerpiece ofthe "action plan" on True the Vote's website. The website has a professionally produced video, "Stop the Voter Fraud Now," (see it on the front page of www.truethevote.org) in which Horowtiz and Engelbrecht discuss "massive voter fraud." Another speaker addresses reponsdent's partisan agenda: "In the legislature in Texas there is a seven vote conservative majority, and what that mean is, in the big picture, ifwe lose Houston, we lose Texas...ifwe lose Texas, we lose the country." Horowitz says that the highest priorities are election monitoring and poll watching. Engelbrecht then makes a call to action, saying True the Vote wants five poll watchers at every precinct. (bold added)
Somehow - somehow - this voter fraud angle that is clearly being pushed so hard has gotten all tangled up with racism as well. So we have repeated pounding and pounding about voter fraud, and suddenly we have racist emails showing up, threats of a dirt nap, and allegations of voter intimidation AT THE POLLS in minority districts.
Horowitz is a frequent guest on the Glenn Beck show.
