There's a story in the Los Angeles Times today about Mrs. Clarence Thomas, slamming healthcare reform as unconstitutional on the web site of her infamous organization Liberty Central.
Well as Ginny goes, so goes Clarence.
If you go to the Liberty Central web site, you'll note that the article referenced in the Los Angeles Times piece is no longer there. It should be available when you click "Hot Issues". But it appears to have been removed. Correct me please, if I'm mistaken.
If you want to see the offending article you need to go to a cached version which is now attributed to none other than . . .Betsy McCaughey.
Here's a link to the cached version attributed to Betsy McCaughey: http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...
Before Liberty Central pulled the article down in its entirety, Here's the disclaimer that the authorship was improper.
Note: Due to a Liberty Central staff error, authorship of this issue brief was previously misattributed. As of October 21, it has been corrected. We regret the error.
But I guess they thought better to just pull the entire article off the web site, which is exactly what's happened.
But teh Google never forgets anything.
Here's what Legal Times has to say about the newly sanitized Liberty Central web site.
The latest controversy involving Virginia Thomas appears to have begun when the position paper was posted on the website of Liberty Central, a conservative group that she founded last year. Liberty Central did not issue the paper, the group said in a statement today, but instead was relaying it from another group, the Conservative Action Project.
The position paper reads in part, regarding the new healthcare law: "With the U.S. Constitution on our side and the hearts and minds of the American people with us, freedom will prevail."
[NOTE FROM NYCEVE: If you click this link, you'll see the article has been removed.]
The position paper, which isstill available on Liberty Central’s website, originally included Virginia Thomas’ name, according to a story today in the Los Angeles Times. The newspaper cites legal experts questioning her involvement, given that the constitutionality of parts of the healthcare law could be considered by the Supreme Court.
In response to the Los Angeles Times story, Liberty Central released a statement today saying that the position paper carried Virginia Thomas’ name by mistake.
Liberty Central is a very dangerous, extremist right wing organization and the fact that it's run by the spouse of Clarence Thomas is deeply disturbing. Though I suppose one could argue, that since Clarence Thomas hasn't had an original thought since the day he was placed on the SCOTUS, it's a given exactly how this pathetic creature will vote on anything.
What's up with Virgina and Clarence Thomas?
Imagine when the first challenge to PPACA hits the SCOTUS. Is Clarence Teabagger going to recuse himself?
