If this administration continues to go in the direction it's going, Mr. Speaker, I am afraid that we will all wish we had these days back again when we could've prevented some great tragedies that may befall us because of the ideological commitment of this administration to weaken America.
Meanwhile, evan as Franks accused President Obama of working to undermine America, U.S. Senator Jon Kyl, who like Franks is part of the GOP delegation from Arizona, was busy threatening to block the START treaty with Russia unless tax cuts for the wealthy were passed by Monday.
If Kyl had a substantive problem with START, that'd be one thing, but holding a major nuclear arms reduction treaty hostage just to get a tax cut? It's really outrageous -- even former Republican secretaries of state argue that START is vital to our national security. If you're looking for examples of politicians putting their own ideology ahead of America's best interests, don't start with President Obama -- start with what Jon Kyl.
