Cloture vote on 'don't ask, don't tell' fails

A cloture vote on the Defense Authorization bill, including the repeal of "don't ask, don't tell" has failed in the Senate 57-40.

Harry Reid brought the bill to the floor without a deal with Republicans, and as expected the obstruction continued, as will discrimination against millions of Americans.

Republicans, John McCain in particular, and bigots everywhere are cheering.
