Right now, as we're calling Congress, others are calling from GOP districts to tell their representatives (GOP/Dem) to vote this bill down. OFA is suggesting we get to the source and turn opinion in the district.
If you haven't phonebanked for OFA before, here's how it works:
- Go to OFA and login. You'll be presented with a list of people to call based on your location. (Mine, for instance, is Louisiana - Cao's district.)
- Click "make a call" on the list. You'll be taken to a page with a suggested script. Here you'll give reasons why Cao should vote yes and suggest the caller contact Cao as well.
- Report how the call went. You'll get plenty of hang-ups, no-answers, busy signals. All of this is normal. Some will be positive, some negative. And that's it!
Remember every call is temporary. It's pretty painless, and if you ever feel uncomfortable, hang up the phone.
Please call now. If you can't call neighbors, call Congress.
