OK, I know he is on nobody's list for the Supreme Court. For starters he is probably too old and too liberal. But I cannot help but think of how all the recent appointments have been appellate court justices. I cannot help but think of all the good the last Governor of California, Earl Warren, sat on the court did.

The time has come to have a non-appellate court judge on the court. The time has also come to have an unabashed liberal. I consider Justice Stevens to be a moderate conservative. The court has shifted so far towards the right that I consider several justices such as Roberts, Alito, and Scalia to be wingnuts.

We need a true liberal. Someone who opposed the Vietnam War. Someone who investigated the Acorn fiasco and brought the truth to light. Someone who supports education. Someone who fights for his beliefs everyday. Someone who was not educated at Harvard or Yale - look at the current court. Someone who is not from the the eastern corridor (D.C to Boston) - again look at the current court. The only fail is that he is a Roman Catholic - too many on the court.

I suspect this doesn't have a chance in hell of happening. So what.
