We must stop using the term "War on Terror."
It is no more a war than the "War on Drugs" is a war. Terrorists do not constitute a nation that we can be at war with. Bin Laden needs to be seen for what he was, more of a head of an organized crime syndicate than the leader of a nation.
By allowing the President to characterize his actions as a war, we are faced with the inability to censure anything he does because of the urgency of a real war. This is more of a police action than a war.
Calling it a war contributes to hysteria. I know that 9/11 was bad and that a lot of innocent people died. I know it was enormous, and it required a change in the way we deal with terrorism. But we can't justify calling it a war anymore.
Let's stop this bullshit. Bush calls it a war because he has to have our support to do anything he wants. That includes spying on Americans, and anyone who disagrees with what he wants. But this can not go on. He needs to be impeached for what he did.
I just don't understand it. A few years ago a Good President got impeached for a bullshit reason that didn't matter at all. Now we have someone who lies and cheats and kills and tortures and nobody seems to give a shit. What the fuck is going on in this country??
