All of these states and their economies and now their
loss of income along with revenue for the states, a plan
has to come. Get BP out of the way with thier little
contract jobs and cost cutting measures, along with
little over minimum wage jobs and bring a team of experts, along with international scientists, Coast guard, Navy, etc, and start a WPA to stop the gusher and clean up the
gulf.
People from all over the country would be down there signing up for a Works Program and being paid, courtesy of BP and the unregulated oil industry and we might actually
get something done.
Bingo...employed people, a job that needs doing and dignity and pride in something we are trying to rebuild.
This is a win win situation.
This is not just an American problem but can be the start of an American solution and will employ people as well.
We are sending people into a war zone dangerous atmospehere so we can't trust BP to ensure their safety or
breathing or clothing equipment. We pay these folks through the government through the liablity funds of BP.
I think it will work.
The program will not go out of existence because there
will be another screw up and another corporations faulted.
FEMA has it's earthquakes and natural Disasters. This should not be under FEMA control. Just a new program to employ and clean the environment.
