For those who can't get enough of the South Carolina GOP gubernatorial soap opera, you are in luck!
The AP is reporting that tonight's primary will result in a runoff between Nikki Haley and Congressman Gresham Barrett. Haley came tantalizingly close to avoiding the runoff (currently sitting at 49% of the vote), but the AP projects she will just miss clinching the race.
Needless to say, however, that since she needs only a fraction of a fraction of the votes of the vanquished, she is the overwhelming favorite for the runoff in a couple of weeks. The winner will face Democratic state senator Vincent Sheheen, who won by a surprisingly wide margin this evening.
