I got this message today from Jim and the campaign manager, Halyn, from my facebook.
Hello Facebook Friends:
Ever since our primary victory four weeks ago, I've been busy calling and writing to Democratic leaders and campaign supporters to build our general election campaign.
Unfortunately, my numerous calls to the Kentucky Democratic Party and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee have gone larely unanswered. After numerous promises for call-backs, I'm tired of waiting.
This is an urgent request. We need your help to push the KDP & DCCC to get behind this campaign. Call them and tell them to return our phone calls.
Call the Kentucky Democratic Party at (502) 695-4828 and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee at (202) 863-1500. Tell them you are a friend and supporter of the Jim Holbert for Congress campaign in Kentucky's 5th District, and they should get behind the campaign in any way that they can.
Please, go take five minutes of your time, and make those two phone calls. Your support is urgently needed right now!
Thanks,
Jim Holbert
Democratic Nominee for Congress
Kentucky's 5th District
So my question is this: Why must democratic candidates in our area fight the good fight alone? Financially, we are alone it seems, and now even the national democrats don't pay us any attention, even after winning.
Please, call and ask the party to get behind their, and our, democratic candidates. It's time to start standing behind them, and pushing them through to victory. The wing-nuttery of candidates like Rand Paul will only help Jim come closer to victory, now we need the party support.
