So much work! So many unemployed!

People are starving. People don't have shelter. Floods are killing people. Forest fires are wreaking havoc. People are dying from lack of health care. Children are not receiving an adequate education. Roads are crumbling. Bridges have fallen. The Gulf needs cleaning. So much work in the US and the world to do and no one is attempting to do the work.

Why? Why are so many unemployed when there is so much work to do? Why are houses standing vacant when so many need housing? Why is there so little work being done to develop efficient clean energy when the impact of global warming is being felt today. Okay the New York Times in In Weather Chaos, a Case for Global Warming says probably, but I think the case is clear.

I ask again and again WHY? There is clearly a resource allocation problem. Resources are not being allocated where the resources are needed. I ask WHY?

The sad truth is representative constitutional democracy is a terrible way of governing. The problem is that representative constitutional democracy is better than any other way of governing. I surely do not want to be dictator of the US or the world. I also believe no one else would do a better job than I would.

So that leaves us with a serious problem. How do we convince politicians to better allocate resources to get the work done? If we don't then as Sharon Angle might say, the people may opt for a "second amendment solution." I sure as hell do not want to see the chaos of a second amendment solution.

Without resources being allocated to get the work done, global warming may cause extinction of the human race as well as many animal and plan species. Oh there will still be cockroaches, but there will no longer be any momma grizzlies. Life as we know it will cease as will we.

Somehow this message of better allocating resources needs to be understood by our politicians. No republican seems to be capable of understanding this. For some reason they think austerity will solve all the problems of the world. Austerity will only make the problems worse. Sorry folks, spending less will be a disaster. Of course shrinking the military will help, but only if the resources can be put to better use.

So how do we convince the politicians? We need to put forth sound arguments. We need politicians and voters to hear those arguments. We need to scream from the roof tops.

So get with program, or suffer the consequences.
