A recent addition to the NOM bus tour (against same-sex marriage) are the clean cut young men in their oh-so-attractive red capes and gold heraldic lion brooches. They're from American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (more below).
Now they have a poll up that asks: "What do you think about Judge Walker's decision to overturn Prop. 8 banning same-sex "marriage" in California?"
I think we should help them find the answer they so desparately need (just scroll down to the bottom left). More after the jump....
The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property is a hard-right catholic group (surprise). Interestingly, they're incorporated as "The Foundation for a Christian Civilization, Inc." They also run a school for boys, St. Louis de Montfort Academy. The website says: The first TFP was founded in Brazil in 1960 by Prof. Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira." He was a pro-elite, anti-Reformation, anti-communist activist. I think they sound like a bunch of Opus Dei wannabes.
They appear to be against indigenous rights, accurate assessment of global warming, green policies that don't promote profit and consumption, gays (of course), "socialism", Ted Kennedy, condoms, abortion, etc.
According to a pastoral bulletin cited in Wikipedia:
In 2007, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Miami stated that the American TFP was not allowed to function or raise funds on church property within that archdiocese.
TFP groups have also come under criticism from the Brazilian National Council of Bishops and have had publications prohibited by the French Government.
Here's an interview with their clean-cut closet case young man at the NOM rally in Harrisburg, PA.
Let's head over and help them with their poll. You'll find it at the bottom left of their homepage. Currently support for marriage equality is at 31% and rising.
BREAKING UPDATE!!! 4:00 pm PDT
I guess they didn't like losing--THEY REWROTE THE POLL TEXT MID-POLL!
As of an hour ago, the results looked like this:

Now they've changed the text and the results look like this:

They have eliminated the original Undecided category (compare the bold sections) and rewritten the text SO THEY WIN!!!
