Let's support Mia Butler for S.C.House 79!

The Democratic Party of S.C. scored an enormous victory Tuesday in choosing Mia Butler to carry the Democratic nomination to replace former State Representative Anton Gunn. As many of you know, Gunn accepted a Presidential Appointment in mid-August to become the Director of the Department of Health and Human Services for the southeastern United States.

Butler won a hotly contested primary against two great Democrats in Beverly Frierson and Todd Wood. She will now face the Tea-Partyist candidate Sheri Few this November in a battle to provide House District 79 with sound, trustworthy representation.

Mia Butler has amazing qualifications. She received both her undergraduate (1990) and law degree (1995) from the University of South Carolina. She has worked alongside Majority Whip Jim Clyburn and received a gubernatorial appointment under Governor Jim Hodges' administration. Just as impressive she is the mother of two children who attend public school in Richland School District Two.
