After discussing with a GOP Co-worker today, the inherit flaws with Corporate Power run amuck in America, these days
I found myself at a temporary "loss of words" ... (oh Noes!)
as my mind shuffled through the possible analogies, to describe what I was trying to explain ...
you see ...
I had just made the point that Corporations are "culpable" for the "decline of America" since they have "no moral conscience" -- that they are driven to make the maximum possible profits -- no matter the long-term costs to workers, to Society, or even to their own companies.
For proof, just ask yourself "When was the last time a Corporation accepted Blame or admitted fault -- FOR ANYTHING? ... like I said Corporations, have "no moral conscience". They are profits machines. They are soulless abstractions.
I then went on to make the point that Corporations are "culpable" for the "decline of America" since they are sitting on record profits, and refuse to hire Americans -- they haven't had profits like this since the 50's, yet they feign Uncertainty, and just continue to sit on their big fat, wallets.
It hasn't always been this way. Used to be, Corporations HAD to re-invest in their own Businesses, in order to remain profitable -- that or face much higher tax rate. So they used to routinely plow Profits BACK INTO the Business -- and THAT was the Engine of the Economy.
Today that Engine is stalled. It's been sold for parts, I think.
These days those "profit-maximizing machines" just consume everything in their path, for the singular purpose of making more and ever-greater Profits -- No matter who they hurt in the process ... No matter WHAT their greedy actions might do to the society around them, in the long run ...
It's like Corporations are a .....
shuffle, shuffle, shuffle ... It's like Corporations are ...
WHAT is that analogy I'm looking for, anyways ... ???
