I have pondered this with a great deal of thought. What direction are we heading and who are these tea party people. I know we think we know but I have an opinion of who they really are. You may not agree but I find my summation of them pretty compelling. First of all, they are not all nuts and crazy. They are all angry. They have some real issues and most of them, not all have common factors among their group. I would say the majority are disgruntled Bush voters. They now know the war in Iraq was a farce and Bush did a lot of spending his last term. He was their idol and somehow when jobs starting going south and wall street started tumbling, these Bush voters had to turn somewhere for blame. I also feel the majority, not all, are predjudice, fundamentalists, pro military and anti government but that is an oxymoran isn't it? I mean, they are cherry pickers. They are very used to cherry picking their hates and likes since they have been spoonfed from the pulpit for generations. Myself, I am one of those Christians the fundies hate. I actually do believe in inclusion and loving thy neighbor and not being a pew sitter on Sunday. There is a fringer part that is waaaaaaaaay over the top and fueled by Fox and the likes of Rush and Glen Beck. This imo, is where the group gets interesting to try and wrap one's brain around. They claim they want smaller government but they want their social security, their VA pensions, their entitlements for themselves but only for the white, sociallly acceptable people who are like they are. These are the same kind of people with the same kind of mindset years ago who would gather all the Native Americans and march them on the trail of tears. The Red man was different. They also run in packs like The Masoniic , Moose, Lions, Eastern Star, and almost every one either sits
on a board of some kind in the church or leads some type of missionary work. The hard
anarchist part of the group really don't care for religion but love the guns and glory (so called) for past military service of which many have no clue why they were where they were except big government sent them there. They are angry about it but still proud.
