start early on getting those volunteers in place and donations going out to these worthy organizations started from Grassroots level such as NFTT. Ok , here is my idea. We pick one day a week and put our whole selves behind these efforts. This is who we are. At this point, I want to help our military familes and those in pain as much as possible and if I don't have the money right this minute, sometime soon I can throw a dollar here and a dollar there not to mention encouraging all of you to help
Americans, hurting Americans out of this ditch and there is no better way than reaching out ! You got to just trust me on that one....Pick a project or group and get involved !
Llbear, Danang, TexDem, TestVet, Wayward Wind , Sara, Ann, Rebel Ga, Markos, Troubadour,Aji, Wings, (shoot just go through the membership and groups) and more than I can name know exactly what I am talking about. Putting the American people and your community and this community in the spotlight for America should be our goal. Getting people elected who work for us and not against us and that would include active on the ground grassroots efforts regarding 2012 election. It is obvious that our legislators are caught up in more bubbles than Lawrence Welk and the President is writing letters that are long overdue to families of suicide victims. He asked us to become involved. This was something many of us were already doing but he was a community organizer and knew the power of the people.
We have an obligation as long as we have air to breathe and this heroism of activism which includes our Environmentalists and our civil rights folks, to become more involved than ever. I urge and implore you to get up, reach out and listen to the nature of your better angels. You are a hero. You have a talent. You have answered the call and now, more than ever you need to show up and stand up. We need to start getting ready for Rhode Island...RIGHT NOW for Netroots Nation.
2012 will be here in less than 6 months. We are in wars that need to end but until we push that issue in one voice by standing up and writing letters and getting really active we still have troops to support. We will have an even bigger job when those troops return. They will need jobs. They will need better healthcare. Our children
need more food, a quality education and we all must do our part.
In World War II...People sold tires. People put a whistle around their necks and patrolled neighborhoods. War bonds were bought. Unions started organizing. We may well be our own calvary but we can do this as long as we work together starting right here and right now. There is strength in numbers. We should make sure this site is
our gateway to the different activism resources that is provided. Let us work to meet our goals before 30 days of the Grassroots convention. Let our voices and helping hands rise up and let us focus...focus..focus.....We can in greater numbers help with the IGTNT memorial messages, the Quilting projects, The funding for NFTT. We can throw money to Daily Kos and we can take this country back from the Corporations and media. Let your community know you are a pebble in a stream that flows into a sea of activism across America.
