Yes, fresh after their terrorist "victory" in risking the economic collapse of America Republicans are in a jobs crisis putting thousands of more people out of work. In a debt crisis they themselves manufactured they are costing the government another billion dollars to do so:
The government is likely to lose more than $1 billion in airline ticket taxes because lawmakers have left town for a month without resolving a partisan standoff over a bill to end the partial shutdown of the Federal Aviation Administration.
Caught up in the partisan acrimony are nearly 4,000 FAA employees who have been furloughed. The FAA also has issued stop work orders on more than 200 construction projects, threatening the jobs of thousands of other workers. Air traffic controllers, however, remain on the job.

And while they want you to believe that air service to a few rural communities are the sticking point:
The air service subsidy program costs about $200 million a year, roughly the amount the government lost in uncollected ticket taxes in the first week of the shutdown. The program was created after airlines were deregulated in 1978 to ensure continued service on less profitable routes to remote communities. But critics say some communities receiving subsidies are within a reasonable driving distance of a hub airport.
The devil in the details is that all of this is just another continuation of the Republican war on American workers and middle-class:
Underlying the subsidy dispute, was a broader, more politically-charged dispute over a labor provision inserted by House Republicans into a separate, long-term FAA funding bill. The FAA's last long-term funding bill expired in 2007. Since then, Congress has been unable to agree on a long-term plan. The agency has continued to operate under a series of 20 short-term extensions.
Yes it appears as if the reason Republicans want to sacrifice thousands of jobs is as always. They are real middle-class jobs in which wages and benefits have been negotiated for:
A new rule issued this morning by the National Mediation Board (NMB) means airline and rail workers will now be able to choose whether to join a union under rules that are more fair and more in line with democratic principles.
For decades, the deck has been stacked against workers covered under the Rail Labor Act (RLA) because every worker who did not cast a vote in a representation election was automatically counted as a “No” vote. The new NMB rule says that an election’s outcome will be decided by the majority of votes cast, just like every other election, from city council to the presidency.

So it is indeed quite ironic. Before going on vacation from ignoring a jobs crisis and manufacturing a debt ceiliing crisis instead and then holding Americans hostage until they were enabled and rewarded by Democrats Republicans are now actually adding to the jobs crisis by axing more jobs. It is only fitting for a Republican Party that is so engulfed with greed and hatred and a Democratic Party that seems to care only about avoiding conflict that they would surrender the future of our country without a shot.
Unfortunately once again there is only one segment of America that will feel pain or give sacrifice from this new Republican treason and they are far removed from the elites in Washington D.C. who are so out of touch with courage, decency and reality it is more than embarrassing. It is treasonous.
