And if after finally getting into Office, you are told by the real powers that be, the way it's going to be, and you proceed apace to ignore expert advice by the likes of Paul Krugman about the need for a huge stimulus package (and avoid doing a mistake of "Hoover" proportions), and ignoring warnings that the timid package he selected was doomed to fail, why would you be upset about that? When you know that it's all the fault of the Republicans meanies.
And if he proceeds to appoint a bunch of Goldman Sachs people to his economic team--the same people responsible for looting the country--hey, that's just being a realist, and a pragmatic. Once you realize that these criminal banksters own the country, why wouldn't you fall in line, and be at their beck and call?
And who cares about the millions and millions of people facing foreclosure, and those who have been evicted (many of them with the use of fraudulent robo-singed documents)? And about the fact that the very banks that were bailed out with tax-payer's money--a bail out caused by the looting they did to begin with--committed crimes which the Administration is now trying to cover-up and/or whitewash? And who cares if Goldman Sachs was a top Obama donor?
And who cares that he seems to pre-cave in on almost every single important issue of our time? Why fight for a single-payer health system, when you can come up with a system that perpetuates huge earnings for the inefficient and exploitative insurance companies?
The debt ceiling cave-in? Who cares. And tonight, what is the big deal about him putting himself in a position where he is once again humiliated, and weakened?
People don't care about that stuff, right? People want jobs. And the president wants to be reelected in 2012, and his advisers and handlers are telling him that even though the Left and the progressives are upset, they will vote for him anyways, so "let's focus on the independents" and so that explains the calculative approach of seeming to be above the fray, of not being "too upset" or too "confrontational" with the Republicans--it may scare some all-important independents.
No sir! Don't you worry about any of that stuff... If this what you voted for back in 2008? Is this the promise you saw in Barack Obama's presidency, when you were fired up and ready to go? Who gives a flying fuck about that?
Fall in, shut the fuck up, keep your head down, don't raise your voice, and accept it.
The new campaign slogan: Yes, you are on your way to serfdom, but at least one master is going to treat you better than the other one. And after all, you have no choice.
Very inspiring... Perfect for the times we live in.
BTW, that was a snark!
