YACI - Yet Another Cave In

Time for a new acronym. YACI - Yet Another Cave In fits the bill. But what President Obama just did goes beyond YACI and falls into YAVI - Yet Another Village Idiot realm. I mean really, how can one so intelligent act so dumb? How could the president pick advisers who did not know about the republican presidential debate? How could these advisers not know there would be a conflict and that John of Orange would not upset the apple cart? How could President Obama have picked a fight to surrender before the first blow is struck? Really, those of you who think President Obama can do no wrong just tell me how can a person who is so intelligent act so dumb?

The next question is "Will President Obama be bold?" I predict no, that President Obama will Wimp Out Yet Again or WOYA. I say that based on past behavior. The original stimulus was a wimp out. I mean would another two hundred billion dollars of government spending have been that much more difficult to strongly propose. Would putting republicans and blue dogs in a corner by arguing that every day that went without passing a stimulus meant that the stimulus would have to be that much bigger and that many more people unemployed. I mean really folks, the president caved before even asking and that was with huge majorities in the House and Senate.

Now the guy is Commander in Chief. The president could not even command the troops to move the prisoners at Guantanamo to the US. He could have dared congress not to fund housing the prisoners in the US and chose not to do so. President Obama wimped out on Health Care, not getting a public option much less advocating for single payer.

The bottom line in President Obama will wimp out and propose a jobs program that will barely keep the currently employed from receiving unemployment insurance. Of course the proposal will be DOA in the House and President Obama will be again be in spending and tax cut land. One final prediction, the Obama Can Do No Wrong community or OCDNOW community will again call this pragmatism.
