Of course no one said that the first bill in the House and when the second bill reached the Senate both bills were defeated with bi-partisan support.
Now a little bit of background on continuing resolutions. I worked for the Federal government for twenty years and every four years there seemed to be another continuing resolution. Continuing resolutions consistently funded government agencies at a percentage of the previous year's budget. I forget what the percentage was, but it was a percentage. To cut a program due to need to need to fund something else was just not done in continuing resolutions. The republicans picked this fight and then aggravated the fight by cutting more money from another program.
Both programs supported green energy, one in the auto-industry and one in the solar panel industry. Global warming is gonna get us all if we don't watch out. While the funding for these programs is a pittance compared to what is needed cutting them even more is pathetic. But then all those rural voters don't believe in global warming because increasing floods and droughts predicted by global warming experts just are not, whoops they sure as hell are, happening. Gee Governor Perry don't you have a fire to put out. That praying for rain is working well for Texas. Better hire a few Indians to dance up a storm. Whoops that is not Christian.
But anyway Republicans started throwing punches and the Post inaccurately reports the Democrats are responsible for the fight.
So what else is new? Just pisses me off.
