Since there is no required length for diaries anymore I just wanted to post this video for those of us who are fans of Hedges. It is a long talk but I enjoyed it. There is also a rudimentary transcript and a higher quality version of the video on the cspan link below.

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author Chris Hedges talked about his life and work and responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. A foreign correspondent with a master's degree from Harvard Divinity School, he discussed topics such as terrorism, religion, and politics.

I also recommend Death of the Liberal Class written by Hedges. It sums up many of the problems with the Democratic establishment.
