I'm sorry but Clint Eastwood's shtick last night was hilarious. The joke was on him for his absolute incompetence and incoherence and on the Romney campaign for thinking that he would be this year's game changer.
But what are we facing? The simple truth is that Romney is an empty suit. He is a set of clothes surrounding an empty vessel that is filled every morning to meet the needs of whatever audience he faces and then the vessel is emptied every night to prepare for the insertion of some different substance the following day. To say the man has no core would be a gross understatement. There is simply nothing there that would be of any benefit to the country. His only goal in life has been to make money for himself.
And even the suit on the empty vessel changes depending on the audience. At the beginning of the primaries he always walk around in creased slacks and starched shirts. Then, then he was accused of being too stiff, we saw him trot out in jeans in an effort to project himself as the "common man." We still see those jeans hauled out of the closet every once in a while if he is in an informal setting. But the rest of the time we see him in slacks and suits, the uniform he has worn all his life.
So he isn't even an empty suit he is empty space that is clothed in whatever image he is trying to project and is filled with whatever mumblings he thinks will please the people he is speaking to at the time. I wonder if we could get a really famous actor to debate that.
