As many of you know, one of the seminars at this year's Conservative Political Action Conference was hosted by Peter Brimelow, the Webmaster of VDARE. In so doing, CPAC gave a microphone to the operator of a documented hate site. Needless to say, I was interested to see just how much of a cesspool this was. So I put on the virtual Tyveck suit and moseyed on over.
While looking at the sidebar of recent articles, I saw a link to one titled "To Stop the Multiplication of the Unfit." I expected to see a eugenics apologist piece, since VDARE has been known to publish pro-eugenics work in the past. Well, imagine my surprise to discover it was actually written by Michelle Malkin, one of the nation's more prominent conservative columnists. A look at her VDARE archive reveals that she's been publishing her columns there since 2002.
I find it pretty hard to believe that Malkin doesn't know about the seamier goings-on at VDARE if she's been posting articles there for a decade. For instance, one of the regular contributors is J. Phillippe Rushton, a eugenicist who believes blacks have smaller brains because they have bigger breasts and buttocks than whites. Another contributor is Kevin MacDonald, a notorious anti-Semite who thinks Jews have used their above-average intelligence to crowd out non-Jews for resources. And then there's Jared Taylor, who claims that blacks are incapable of civilized behavior and has very strong ties to the Council of Conservative Citizens.
Perhaps some of us should drop her syndicator, Creators Syndicate, a line. I wouldn't think they'd take too kindly to Malkin's work being associated with a documented hate site.
