I never expected any of the Republican Candidates to go this far.
This comes from CNN.
Republicans and Conservatives were so worried about, you know, getting control back, that we have to win! So we have to nominate someone who's, who can appeal to..-No! You win by giving people a choice. You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who's just a little different from the person in there. If they're going to be just a little different, we might as well stay with what we have, instead of taking a risk in what may be the ...Etch a Sketch Candidate for the future.
Some Republicans on the blogs are reacting with dismay that Santorum would go so far as to disparage their front runner to the point of claiming that the Democratic incumbent would be better.

Santorum Suggests Obama Beats an ‘Etch A Sketch’ CandidateSantorum Suggests Obama Beats an ‘Etch A Sketch’ Candidate
“I am in this race to defeat Barack Obama and restore America’s promise. I was disappointed to hear that Rick Santorum would rather have Barack Obama as president than a Republican.
I don't ever recall a Republican Primary race getting this nasty. I expect Republican pundits will be lining up starting at dawn to plunge their knives into Santorum as a blasphemer against the Party.
