Politicus USA is calling Rush Limbaugh a 'Right-Wing Welfare Bun' saying he subsidized by the Right-Wing. Given the week's dismal news that 95% of advertisers want no part of him, it makes sense.
That means 'payola' is taking place. Heritage Foundation and Freedom Works (linked to the Tea Party, linked to the Koch Bros) have been paying Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck, according to former FreedomWorks Chairman, Dick Army. So if Limbaugh and Beck are taking money to talk up the right wing agendas unbeknownst to his audience, he might be breaking the law.
In the 1950's there was a shake-up in the music industry and other industries who were using payola to push their own agendas. A law was passed making payola illegal. Apparently, with Limbaugh, the crime is being overlooked. With the new FCC chair coming in, let's hope they take a good, long, hard look into the goings on at Clear Channel. According to the FCC Rules:
Any broadcast station employee who has accepted or agreed to accept payment for the airing of program material, and the person making or promising to make the payment, must disclose this information to the station prior to the airing of the program.
As much as Conservatives preach "Free Market!"- once again, their hypocrisy rears its ugly head.
