As a 62 year old baby boomer, I recall most of everything I am posting and sometimes long for the more simple ways of life. Why wouldn't I ? I was a child. I knew little of war and the trauma of such other than the talk of the A Bomb and our daily Duck and cover routine at school. A world after WWII that surrounded it's citizens with fear took great advantage of The Cold War. Eisenhower saw the new infrastructure as part of National Security.Car Culture and National Security.
The fifties economy was booming due to highways, bridges and roads needing to be built for a way out if the bomb hit. Well where all the folks were going to flee to was not even asked but the interstates came. The automobile played a huge factor in all of the economy. If everyone could have achieved the American dream then The Tucker would not have been run out of business but then again Capitolism was getting into full swing as well. There also was an Asian American who played a huge role in the design of the Tucker.

Seen in this video documentay featuring absolutely no black or latino or minorities of any sort, as this was the golden years for America ( to them). Economy in the 50's.
The truth of the matter is that the black man and women and other minorities were taking care of the golden economic generation's yards, children, houses, laundry, etc.whereas Leaders of America could have more time to work on the Military Industrial Complex and minorties were fine ( in their place) as long as they played good sports, were fine paid servants and did not ask for equality. If equality such as The Civil rights movement came along and it did , Thank God, then the post WWII era families of mostly white, would be doomed. The black man or Latino or Asian American would take their jobs.
Of course minorities would take jobs because everyone knew most minorities were very industrious people and as long as white was the ruling class, there would never be a worry of middle class and upper class disappearing. There just was not enough propoganda to spread if the minorities became equal or Heaven Forbid, the majority.
This is what I feel happened which is a little crazy. The parents of the boomers were used to an ability to achieve the American Dream, as long as they went to church, worked everyday, and made sure the minority race stayed in the minority. This minority thing also applied to women. Women needed to know their place as well to keep the working man happy and only serve as nurses, secretaries, and homemakers.
They could never achieve equality as this too would endanger the pale face white man.
They believed all of this IMO but what did they do? They brought in Ronald Reagan.
Of course by the time St. Ronnie became president, MLK had already led the Civil Rights Movement, Roe V Wade had been declared law of the land in the Supreme Court , latinos were immigrating into America via the western borders and Cuba. You never hear of complaints of illegals from Canada do you?
Everything was changing. We had a bad war that was unpopular, a bunch of mad scientists now performing experiments on all men, not just black as in the fifties and technology booming. America had Asian Americans out of the camps of the 40's during WWII, Equal rights upheld in those liberal courts and white women participating equally in lovemaking and birth control. This was getting out of control. Ronald Reagan was the savior as he would bring in better economic times after the Vietnam War, let the gay and lesbian communties be labeled with Gay Cancer (AIDS) and hopefully die off.
St. Ronnie would put a stop to all the regulations, lower taxes and stop the cold war which was so helpful during the better economic times. EVERYTHING they did was contrary to maintaining a robust economy. Ronnie would also usher in a breed of conservatism of evangelicals that would turn America around. All of this, the republicans believed IMO. The Reagan democrats believed this as well.
Enter more unpopular wars, the MIC in full swing, the unfair trade practices, de regulation, the rise of Wall Street, and reasonable people want change. Enter Barack H. Obama. OH NO. He is worse than Clinton they think. He is black. He is smart.
He wants more equality, thus making him a socialist with no birth certificate and secret muslim. The NRA arms almost everyone and now we have no pravacy, lots of big guns, torture and no money and on top of that..Climate Change which creates natural disasters. Basically the white man has created one huge clusterf..k when things started getting out of their control and the jobs were lost and a black president was put in place.
No. The repubicans are not crazy. They cannot adapt to becoming the minority nor finding ways to create a new way of life besides war, because all they want to do is live in the past. Yes they want their country back. They do not want to move forward, with green technology, solar energy, less drilling, new infrastructure that would be high speed rail, stem cell research and people working together equally because they cannot move from the past and Rush and Fake news remind them of the boogie man and we commies who are still DFH . They are stuck. The president needs to realize this has become an obession with them and those old jobs are never coming back and unions are to be protected along with the rights of every single American. If we are to survive as a nation, it has to be Equal justice and opportunity for every person. no matter their disability, race, religion, creed, color or sexual orientation. Not jjust those words on paper. The wars must stop. The veterans must be receiving care and people must be held accountable for their deeds or misdeeds.
I believe they really want us to die off so they can somehow go back in time to where white was all and the green was plentiful to the select persons who shared the same idealogy of the white man and woman. The Indians are dying on the reservations and that was one problem they thought that had been solved.
I have no documentation other than this pondering and looking back at my life and classmates and deemed this to be why America is where it is today. The republicans are in dissary when the fringe took them over with their paranoia and dissaray and made life harder on all of us. That bunch would be called The Tea Party. I have no answers for th Marco Rubios, the Allen West's and the Michelle Bachman's nor the log cabin rebulicans other than just self destructive people who are well paid, to spread the news of the American way disappearing because of a Black president and the DFH trying to improve The United States of America. We do need to lean forward but that bunch is stuck and keeps pulling us back.
