Why is it when something can be done and affects so many or just one, people will
NOT get involved by exposing the bad. They talk a good game. They have access to or know things others are guessing and even when a really bad thing happens and they sit and do nothing..what is that ?
I know people can be afraid of repricussions or job loss or even worse but how do they sleep knowing that they did not do all they could to stop injustice or abuse? I try not to be one of those people. I really really lose respect for those kind of people, not that they need my approval but why? What is in their nature to say, "Well I can't help" or " It has gone on so long there is nothing I can do" or " Nothing will happen so why put my neck out there"? How can people look at someone getting beat up stranger or not and stand idly by? How can people watch someone beat a child and not say anything or do anything? How can people not call out their legislators, or any person in power or not when they see something happening that is wrong. How can one not write letters to prisoners or offer hope? How can one not report police brutality?
Do they not know if they are not part of the solution they are part of the problem? If you saw someone hurt, would you do something? If you saw many people hurt, would you call someone? Would you stand up to authority for wrongdoing or would you go sit down quietly? I really want to know what makes people cower and shut up. Fear? It will only get worse for someone because fear has paralyzed many. What makes people seem so used to thinking that if one person can make a difference then more than one can't.
I am not talking Snowden here. I am talking about reporting wrongs and standing for something and just doing nothing. There are experiences every single week most of us see something wrong and either say or do nothing. When a bully is bulying a senior or one sees a poor or wronged person being talked down in a setting that is public, or a homeless person stands holding a sign and maybe they just need a smile or something bigger like you witness a theft, or know about something in the workplace or worse yet in the government and you don't sign those petitions or write letters to the editors or make a stand, then what does that say? It's OK?
I am glad I am in a community where most here I believe are honorable. I was proud of Jessie last night on Ed taking on the liars of Fox I am proud to know I am a member not only here but in something bigger than me.. The planet. There is no honor among liars, cowards, thieves, crooks, rapists, pediphiles, bullys and more. There is honor in stepping forward and saying, " "ENOUGH" One never knows who may go home and end it all from the unjust and unfairness in their lives and thinking nobody cares enough to say knock it off. The Dream Defenders know this.
The situations above to stand against hate and injustices are so important. That is why this country is off the rails. There have been little or no consequences for bad and inappropriate behavior. There have not been enough to say " Prison" for those who have stolen homes and futures. There have not been enough people to stand up for the good people do and against the bad. Am I without sin on this? Probably not. There was more I am sure I could have done this week or last or sometimes, but I do stand up and talk back to bullys. Jax Dem said last week, " We are our own calvary". Well we are.
I don't know about you but hope you stand and support our very own existence with pushing for the ACA, women's rights, veterans rights, senior rights, civil rights, children, the homeless, the downtrodden and the vulnerable, especially the disabled.
Stand and Stand alone if necessary because someone has to. Sometimes we are the only adults in a world full of too many bully wingers, prejudices and bigotry and haters.
You know what they say First they came for the Jews, then they came for the Muslims, then they came for the gays, then they came for the Indians, then they came for the poor and then when they came for me, there was no one to help. I modified it a bit but here we are. Just stand and keep standing and know there ARE people who may let you down, and this may be lonely but STAND. Let's not throw stones at spineless legislators while we are trying to find that bunch of bones in our own backs.
