Philadelphia for the 2016 Democratic National Convention?

One of five cities bidding for the Democratic National Convention, Philadelphia appears to hold an early edge with a track record of hosting the major gathering — not to mention that Hillary Rodham Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden have family ties to the state. [...]
Also vying for the 2016 convention are Birmingham, Alabama; New York City's Brooklyn borough; Columbus, Ohio; and Phoenix — each hoping to host its first presidential convention.

The judge from the Don Siegelman trial is arrested:

US District Court Judge Mark Fuller was arrested Sunday morning and charged with misdemeanor battery for assaulting his wife. Police responded to a call from the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Atlanta. Fuller's wife said her husband had assaulted her; she was treated for wounds by paramedics but declined to be taken to a hospital.
Fuller is best known for presiding over the trial of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman (D), which Siegelman's supporters believe - with some reason - was a politically motivated prosecution.

A spokeswoman says a Virginia medical examiner has notified police that this week's death of former White House press secretary James Brady has been ruled a homicide.
Brady was shot in the head during the 1981 assassination attempt by John Hinckley Jr. of President Ronald Reagan. Brady lived through hours of surgery and further operations over the years, but he never regained normal use of his limbs.

Chuck Todd, a political obsessive and rabid sports fan, is the likely successor to David Gregory as moderator of “Meet the Press,” with the change expected to be announced in coming weeks, according to top political sources. The move is an effort by NBC News President Deborah Turness to restore passion and insider cred to a network treasure that has been adrift since the death in 2008 of the irreplaceable Tim Russert.
