With the 2014 mid-term elections behind us, all eyes are starting to turn to the 2014 presidential election. It's hard to believe we are moving into the twilight of Presidents Obama's presidency but indeed we are. The last six years have been filled with solid achievements and big disapointments but at this stage of the game, Obama has once again found his mojo post-election day and I must admit I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the GOP freakout the last couple of weeks.

For our party, all eyes are on Hillary Clinton, along with the Ready for Hillary PAC, who, without a doubt, will be making comments on this diary telling us all what a dreamboat of a candidate she will be.

Clinton's candidacy and campaign was an unmitigated disaster, with the candidate and her aids trying to convince all who would listed throughout 2007 that Clinton would be a nominee. But with a poorly run campaign, infighting amongst her senior advisers, cousin Bill mucking things up in places like South Carolina, with his attempt to marginalize Obama as the black candidate like Jesse Jackson, and lastly, Clinton not performing as the candidate everyone thought she would be, Clinton lost. A coalition of African American voters, college educated white voters, and young people under 30, defeated the former first lady in stunning fashion.

But there seems to be some out there that think that whatever mojo Clinton had in 2008, even that is gone.

Charlie Cook, considered to be a respected political expert, said in a recent interview that Clinton was either "rusty" or "she has lost her fastball" and probably not run.

Charlie Cook, one of the most respected political experts in the country, believes Hillary Clinton has only a 25-30 percent chance of running for president, and in any case he thinks she is either “rusty” or “she has lost her fastball.” He bases that on her disastrous book tour, in which she said some very inappropriate things and also did not sell many books.

Now, some of the comments she made during her book tour were pathetic. The one that stands out in my mind is that she and Bill were broke when they left the White House. And this is the one quote that I believe has the most potential to do Clinton as a presidential candidate the most harm. It is well documented that the Clinton's put together $850,000.00 as a down payment and secured a 1.9 million dollar loan for their new home in New York.

The comment shows how out of touch she is with what is going in a normal peoples lives. 30% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, have no retirement savings and can't come up with a down payment for a hundred thousand dollar house. Her exagerated claims are not likely to win many votes from this 30% of the population.

But Cook's comments are really the first out there that suggest Clinton will not run, giving no better than a 30% chance. And what if he is right and she doesn't run? Who will run? Who will get in, other than Elizabeth Warren, if Clinton does not?
