The blight on the air waves that is Sean Hannity continues to plumb depths that would make the Marianas Trench look like a mere rut in the road. I steeled myself to listen to his radio show today, 9-24-14, as is my wont so I'll have a better idea of where the snake line is, and was in time to hear him finally notice what's happening in Africa.
He'd been getting calls asking when he was going to cover ebola on his show, and he finally did today. He was talking with someone who's involved in efforts to stop the epidemic over there (Her name escapes me, but she didn't fare well.) Hannity expressed his sympathy for the people over there and the terrible toll it's taking, discussed the aid efforts including the U.S. contribution, a bit about previous outbreaks, and seemed like he was going to do a straightforward discussion...
But (and you knew there was going to be a "but" didn't you?) then he veered into his prepared talking points.
Who's going to pay for this?
Why should we be getting involved in this? Isn't it really the responsibility of those countries over there to deal with this? Shouldn't they have been ready?
We've treated two people successfully in this country - but it was very expensive and took a lot of infrastructure. Are we going to go in and build it for them?
"Who's going to pay for it?" He asked that over and over.
He cited the 'factoid' that Obama has run up more debt than any other president in history and we can't afford to take care of things in this country. Isn't it really the responsibility of those people over there to deal with it on their own?
You get the gist.
He'll be having Dick Cheney on his TV show tonight, to share his expertise on Syria. Hannity's against getting involved there by the way - unless we give it the full "Shock & Awe" treatment. No word on who he thinks should pay for that.

Sean Hannity on ebola:
Same "bold and inspired" solutions conservatives always fall back on: screw you - I've got mine.
He'll give a shit when it turns up next door - and it will be Obama's fault.
He'll totally freak out if it comes to the U.S.
