First of all, Graham might have trouble finding a new financial institution:
Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup and Wells Fargo are among the nearly 200 business that received a 100 percent score in the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index -- a yearly survey, which evaluates the relative LGBT-friendlyness of companies based on a variety of factors, including their benefits offerings and engagement with the LGBT community. The financial sector ranked higher than many others, according to the survey, including retail and health care.
Goldman Sachs also came out in support of the Supreme Court's ruling on the Defense of Marriage Act back in 2013, so they're probably out as well.
Maybe there's a small bigoted credit union in Graham's neck of the backwoods that would be suitable -- they might not offer the widest range of services though.
Next, Graham better shut down that Facebook account where he publicized his latest get-rich tactic campaign to purify America -- Facebook, along with many other Silicon Valley companies such as Google and Hewlett-Packard, have very LGBT-friendly employee policies.
Better get rid of the computers too -- of course Apple would be off the list since they actually have a gay CEO, but Microsoft is also high on the lists of LGBT friendly corporations out there. Maybe there's a nice homophobic Linux build out there they can use for their corporate servers...assuming their followers don't also ditch their computers.
Where will they shop? Walmart actually came out (no pun intended) in opposition to Arkansas proposed "religious freedom" act that would have allowed discrimination against same-sex couples, and Target has featured gay couples in their ads as well.
In fact, a record 366 companies received 100% rankings on the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index (pdf). Graham's going to have a hard time gassing up the company fleet of cars (Valero, Chevron, and Phillps 66 are all high on the list), or replacing them when they wear out (Ford, General Motors). Breakfast might be a little bland without Kellogg's or General Mills cereals, and if Chick-Fil-A serves Coke or Pepsi products, they'd better switch to holy water instead. When traveling on his "crusades", Graham will have to avoid Starwood Resorts, Hyatt, Hilton, and even Marriott.
Face it, "Reverend" Graham -- LGBTs are part of society. And companies recognize them as both valued employees and as potential customers. It makes sense in a capitalist society to reach out to all potential customers -- and there are more LGBTs (and straight allies) than there are Christians of your ilk.
Enjoy your retreat from society.
Or maybe just admit you've lost and learn to deal with reality.
