News About Boehner Resignation

This is going to be a short diary.

The reason for writing it is that on Thom Hartman just now, Bob Ney was on.

Bob Ney got sent up the river for dirty dealing while in congress. When he got out he wrote a book, Sideswiped, about his years in congress and told some interesting tales out of school, including some about Boehner.

He still has alot of friends and contacts in the congress and talked with them about the resignation.

Apparently, there was a deal struck a few weeks back that Boehner would resign after the Pope came and spoke to congress.

He did not have the votes to ride out this latest uprising.

If he lost his speakership and remained in congress, his protection against crimes he's committed, dirty deals, ect., would come back to haunt him.

He has some huge enemies in the party, not just the tea party. The speakership protected him against corruption charges. Without the protection he's without any real help to beat them.

There are 4 people seriously being looked at for speaker. Steve Scalise, Jeb Hensarling, Kevin McCarthy and Jim Jordan.

If Kevin McCarthy, one of the infamous Young Guns, gets it it will only be with alot of concessions to the extreme wings of the party.

Jordan and Hensarling are members of the 'Freedom Caucus'. I don't know about Scalise but, I would think so because it is the extreme conservative, tea party caucus.

McCarthy is considered 'moderate and establishment'.

Hensarling is part of a group of republicans who's main cause is impeaching Obama.

Scalise is a racist and tea partier.

Ney does not think Jordan will get the spot but, if he does, he is a real reactionary.

Either way, look for alot of shut downs, alot of emotional, reactionary laws, behavior and the house in total chaos.

The one bright light is that these clowns may be the true unmasking of the republican party and their masters. One that even the corporate press cannot ignore.
