Of course he is. But here is the catch and it is an important one. So am I.
Is Bernie Sanders Racist?

Coming from a position of privilege in being a white male in the US, I have to acknowledge that I too can and will at times contribute to the institutionalized racism and misogyny that occurs in this country. Bernie Sanders is no different. He is in fact:
A champion of the middle and lower class.
A champion for equality.
A champion for ending the exact things that I spoke of.
However, that does not mean he is without fault, and cannot possibly make mistakes. He can in fact. The reason why Bernie is an amazing person is because he has the ability to correct those mistakes and help correct those mistakes in others.
This isn't rocket science. This is just politics which has started to corrupt what could have been a simple matter. IMHO, Hillary should have just sent a note to his staff or pulled him aside after the debate and said "Hey, btw that comment you made strikes me as sexist, and here is why." Bernie, would have probably said, "I'm sorry, I apologize" and the whole thing would have been over. Instead dirt started getting thrown and an honest conversation has been bastardized and the point was lost.
Why can we not help our candidates build each other up and help each other grow into better people?
Bernie did in fact make a statement that some people will honestly find offensive. I know, because I checked before writing this diary. We don't have to tear him down about it. We should instead go after the MSM which is using it to perpetuate the blood sport of politics for good headlines.
