Westboro Baptists are famous for making trouble. Their marker of showing up at funerals and public events to scream about the thing God hates have become legendary. While people have formed human chains to stop them and counter protests, very few protests have come together as quickly as the one which occurred at Oak Park High School in the Kansas City Metro.
When Westboro Baptist showed up at Oak Park High School they intended to bring their special form of harassment to students who had elected Landon Patterson their homecoming queen. They were doing so because Landon Patterson is a transgender student and for Westboro, that was all it took to make protesting a school the right thing to do.
But instead of taking it, the students decided to counter protest and fight back, defending a fellow student as well as their right to chose who they wanted to represent them. The students gathered to push back on Westboro hate organization/church by chanting "Long Live the Queen" eventually forcing Westboro Baptist to leave.
Kudos to the students who stood up for their fellow classmate.
