The IWW has been accused of pushing women to the front.
This is not true.
Rather, the women have not been kept in back, and so
they have naturally moved to the front.

Chicago, Illinois - Elizabeth Gurley Flynn Returns from Western Speaking Tour
Miss Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, I. W. W. organizer and speaker, left Chicago in April and headed out west. She blazed a trail across Kansas speaking on "Labor Solidarity" and visited with Fellow Worker Joe Hill in the Salt Lake County Jail. She spoke in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and in Portland, Oregon.
On her way back to Chicago, she spoke in Kansas City as reported by June 28th edition of The Salina Evening Journal of Kansas:
Women Organizer Will Unionize
Harvest Cooks This Season.
Kansas City, June 28.-Miss Elizabeth Gurley Flynn is going into the harvest hand situation. As a labor leader she was active in Paterson and New York.
"We have organizers throughout the wheat district," she said yesterday, previous to her address at the Commercial Travelers' hall, Twelfth and Central streets. "Our men are going to demand a wage of $3 a day for ten hours' work, with overtime demands of 50 cents an hour. The organization is proceeding rapidly."
Miss Flynn's first efforts will be in regard to the women cooks for the harvest gangs.
"Kansas has sent out a call for a thousand women cooks to make pies and cakes and delicacies for the harvest hands," she said. "Heretofore only men cooks have been employed. They have obtained $5 a day for their sixteen hours' grind. Now it is proposed to pay the women half that amount-$2.50 a day. That is not just."
Thursday's Chicago
Day Book announced her return to that city:
TWO FLYNN DATES
Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, who recently returned from a trip through the west, will speak Thursday evening at 644 W. 12th st. on "Revolutionary I. W. W." The meeting will be under the auspices of Polish, Hungarian, Jewish and Russian societies.
She will speak Friday night at Hod Carrier's Hall, Green and Harrison sts., on "Women in the Labor Movement."

The Rebel Girl - Janne Lærkedahl
That’s the Rebel Girl, the Rebel Girl!
To the working class, she’s a precious pearl.
She brings courage, pride and joy
To the fighting Rebel Boy
We’ve had girls before, but we need some more
In the Industrial Workers of the World.
For it’s great to fight for freedom
With a Rebel Girl.
