Okay, so I get it. I have lived and worked in a red state for a long time. Am I supportive of Progressive Agendas? Absolutely.

However I have met many Berners this cycle, and they understand — intuitively, instinctively that Indiana Repubs are basically off the deep end. Even the “Button down” Repubs like Ryan are advocating absurd policy positions that must be opposed. They want to make Medicate into a “voucher system?” (Todd Young, who is running against Evan Bayh, says that.) Gov. Pence turned down $80M in Fed’l dollars for a pre-K program? You have gotta be kidding me.

These Repubs are off the charts. They’re bonkers. Never mind The Orange Menace who seems to be in charge of his own personal Dumpster fire.

There are a lot of races in red states that you blue-staters should support. It’s not entirely unbelievable that we could take back the House, or at least make major inroads.

Personally, I feel that our focus must be on the Senate, because that affects the Supreme Court. That said, please consider your congressional races, and also other issues (such as your state legislature contests). Oh yeah, how about the Gov situation in places where it matters?

We must do more in the red states, because electing blue-state progressives just isn’t enough for what we want to do.
