What deep anger and revulsion...

I am feeling towards Trump and his deplorables. This is a “vent” diary, little new info, just deep sorrow at the perversion of the political process I am seeing. I have believed in the political process, I have worked hard within it. i have actively opposed many Republicans, but also trusted that they were basically good people and we disagreed on matters of substance, but not on basic humanity. Now those same people are willing to let this filth continue. They are trading the core of their humanity for political expediency.

There is no excuse. Trump is saying that the proof that he didn’t molest these women is that they were not beautiful enough to attract him. Hillary is right to use the word deplorable. This is deplorable. Supporting someone who talks this way is deplorable. The higher up the person supporting Trump is - the more deplorable he or she is.

I salute Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan, Senators from Alaska for not only withdrawing support from Trump but also stepping down as Chairs of the Alaskan Republican Party in protest. i salute the women who had such courage that they talked out. But, they are being hounded, sometimes chased out of the country, by Trump’s followers.

This man is deteriorating before our eyes, spewing increasingly crazy bile. Anyone who supports him deserves our disdain. I wish eventual peace to all the victims to this man - including all of the followers he has pulled into the whirlpool of his vitriol.

I am walking, calling, tabling, hosting, and praying (and I am not even religious). Many of us are. I hope it is enough to stop the tide - but it will take a very long time to cleanse our nation of this blot.
