Probably even more pathetic than Donald Trump’s nomination as the Republican Party’s nominee for president of the United States is the faux bewilderment being shown by Republican pundits and leadership that a guy undiplomatically spewing all of their opinions and policies out to the public is now the top vote getter in their party. Howard Stern talked with CNN about the tapes that have been released over the past few weeks of Trump’s various appearances over the years on Stern’s radio show.
"None of this was hidden," Stern said. "This is who Trump is. He was always bombastic. He always rated women. He always talked in a misogynistic, sexist kind of way, but he did it sort of proudly and out in the open; and he still won the Republican primary. In one sense, the fact that we do an interview and people's personalities come out, I'm very proud of that."
That’s the long and short of it. Sure, if you grew up in New York City during the 1970s-1990s like I did, you had an earlier understanding of what a piece of crap Donald Trump was; but it wasn’t hard to figure out that he was exactly as advertised as he hasn’t done anything but be Donald Trump this entire election cycle.
