Remember that promise from House Republicans a few weeks ago for a future President Clinton? "Investigate. Investigate. Investigate. Impeach." That hasn't changed just because FBI Director James Comey didn't entirely do their bidding. No, says Rep. Jason Chaffetz (the guy who decided voting for Trump was more important than his daughter) they're going to just have to keep investigating those emails until … something.
"We’re going to keep after this until we get to the truth. We don’t have it yet," Chaffetz, chair of the House Oversight Committee, said on Fox News Sunday night.
The congressman told Fox News that he was not surprised by Comey's Sunday announcement but that the letter left unanswered questions about the investigation into Clinton's email use.
"I don’t know that it’s surprising that they came to the same conclusion that Hillary Clinton was so careless with classified information, this mess that she created," he said. "I was actually more surprised ten days ago to announce that they were looking at new information."
"But I still have a lot of questions: Is that new information? Is that classified? What other people are implicated? How many other instances were there? We don’t know the answer to any of those questions," Chaffetz continued.
He also has questions about the Clinton Foundation, because why not. When they promise that a Clinton presidency would mean never-ending investigations, they really mean it. That and another several dozen Obamacare repeal votes, surely.
We need a new Congress.
