For the past few months there have only been snippets in the media about the lawsuit filed by alias “Jane Doe” who alleges Republican Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein raped her when she was just 13-years-old. A federal court orders states the attorneys representing the Plaintiff Jane Doe, and attorneys representing Defendants Donald Trump and Jeffery Epstein are required to meet with NY Federal Judge Ronni Abrams in December of 2016.
On Wednesday, there was breaking news that lit up social media about a press conference scheduled, via The Bloom Firm, claiming Trump’s alleged child rape victim alias “JaneDoe” would be making a public statement to the press — live and in front of the world. To the disappointment of many, the press conference was cancelled. Lisa Bloom made a brief statement apologizing for the cancellation and said Jane Doe had changed her mind and was terrified after receiving death threats — something not uncommon for rape victims. The press conference may or may not be rescheduled.
The rape charges against Donald Trump allege the now presidential nominee forcibly raped Jane Doe who had just become a teenager in 1994, at one of billionaire Jeffrey Epstein’s sex and drug parties. Earlier this year, I wrote a piece about Epstein and those parties. Epstein is now a registered sex offender but spent little time “behind bars” for sexual involvement with minors.
One thing to note. When Trump's pal Jeffrey Epstein was arrested for crimes involving sex with minors, it was still common to call underage girls who were paid to have sex — “prostitutes.” But now, the public is becoming more aware and educated to the epidemic of sex trafficking in this country, as well as around the world. Now, if a girl is paid to have sex, and she is a minor, she is considered a “victim of sex trafficking”. In other words, there is no such thing as an underage prostitute. They are all victims. This has been one of the most positive changes in verbiage that clearly reflects a tilt in America’s rape/sexual assault/sex-trafficking culture of ignorance. Here is an excerpt from a previous story.
Jeffrey Epstein, 63, along with his buddies, reportedly abused/exploited at least 34 underage girls from 1999 to 2007. Some of the girls were as young as 13. In 2008, in what amounted to hundreds of sex crimes, Epstein’s charges were reduced to only two—soliciting prostitution and procuring the services of an underage prostitute a sex-trafficking victim. The sex offender copped a plea deal and received a mere 18-month sentence, which was reduced to 13 months, which was padded with 12-hour days in a nice office on a work release program. The remaining five months were spent on house arrest in his luxury mansion. Must have been tough for him.
Fred Grimm with The Miami Herald reports Epstein’s ridiculously meek sentence was during a time when other less affluent sex offenders were “forced to live like apocalyptic trolls beneath Miami’s Julia Tuttle Causeway without water, toilets, electricity.”
So, Epstein’s case proves the rich white elite win again. And if Trump is indicted and convicted of child rape, would it be be foolish of us to think he will receive a just sentence?
Watch MSNBC’s Chris Hayes do a segment on Jeffrey Epstein in this video discussing how Jeffrey Epstein aligned him self with some very well-known and respected celebrities, politicians, and even Nobel prize winners — but there was an underbelly to Epstein, of which many were not aware.
The lawsuit filed by Jane Doe can be viewed HERE. (Note: There is a “trigger warning,” as the lawsuit contains explicit details about the alleged violent rape. A witness testimony by alias “Tiffany Doe” also gives details about how Epstein acquired some of the underage girls for his parties:
4. I was hired and paid directly by Mr. Epstein from the years 1991-2000 to attract adolescent women to attend these parties, most of which were held at what is known as the Wexner Mansion located at 9 E. 71st St. in New York City.
5. In June, 1994 while performing my duties as a recruiter of adolescent women to attend Mr. Epstein’s parties, I met a 13-year-old adolescent woman, the Plaintiff in this matter, at the Port Authority in New York who said that she had come to New York City in the hope of starting a modeling career.
6. I persuaded the Plaintiff to attend a series of parties of Mr. Epstein that took place during the summer of 1994. I told her that, if she would join me at the parties, she would be introduced to people that could get her into the modeling profession and she would be paid for attending.
7. It was at these series of parties that I personally witnessed the Plaintiff being forced to perform various sexual acts with Donald J. Trump and Mr. Epstein. Both Mr. Trump and Mr. Epstein were advised that she was 13 years old.
Tiffany Doe’s statement in full can be viewed HERE (also with a trigger warning). It’s hard to wrap my head around a person who would partake in procuring young girls for Epstein— or I should say children, and she witnessed the crimes without trying to stop them. And it’s unknown whether this presumed woman has been penalized under law or whether she was part of the testimony in the trials that previously put Epstein in jail. I will say it’s good that she is coming forward now if, in fact, it is to help the plaintiff and/or alleged rape victim, Jane Doe.
Probably the most positive thing about Jane Doe speaking out, other than hopefully helping to stop a racist, misogynist, homophobic, anti-choice, hate-filled fear-monger like Donald Trump from reaching the White House, and exposing sex-trafficking, is that Jane Doe is helping more victims of rape/sexual assault/sex-trafficking know they are not alone. And perhaps in time, and with mighty courage, they will come forward to tell their stories and get help and support the deserve, while helping to educate a country. Will Jane Doe change her mind? If she does, most victims/rape survivors will understand. And if she takes back her allegations, as many victim do because of threats— most victims/survivors will understand. Hard to imagine the kind of horrific threats she is receiving right now from Trump supporters, as well as Trump and his political cronies. And those threats are not only against her own life, but also the lives of her family, her friends and perhaps her children. And who will be there to protect her after the press eats her alive? How much easier it might be to walk away right now.
I hope she is getting help. I hope she feels the support so many of us have for her, especially from millions of rape survivors like me. #IStandWithJaneDoe
