Yeah, so who would have guessed that hatemongers would turn on each other?
The GOP Civil War has effectively pit the Nazi-sympathizers on one side against the run-of-the-mill race-baiters on the other. There hasn't been many silver linings this election, except for what has happened to conservative media: Fox is tearing itself apart, Breitbart has become a pariah in republican circles now, and truly horrible people--those who have no place in civilized society and never should have been given a platform--may finally be relegated to the political dustbin.
The top story on RedState is entitled "So Basically, Ann Coulter Is The Worst Person In The World". It eviscerates her over this tweet, which is straight out of Hitler’s Germany.
Her tweet references the Nuremberg laws, which defined citizenship based on the religious community where an individual's grandparents were born into. She is not-so-subtly referring to the Mischlinge Test, which classified how Jewish you were based on the number of grandparents you had with Jewish ancestry.
As is ALWAYS the case, it is a nod to the Alt-Right (White) hate movement that is at Trump's core.
(As a side note, Ann Coulter’s tweet is ignorant on a whole other level: neither Donald Trump, Melania, nor any of his children would be able to case a vote using her ridiculous standard.)
I would say kudos to RedState, but mind you, they were apparently just fine with Ann Coulter up till she supported Donny Trump. Even the author of the attack piece called her one of the "former heroes” who has “traded credibility for larger bank accounts". (You can go to their site and see it. I won’t link to them.)
So I guess Ann had “credibility” when she praised Tim McVeigh, suggested that poll taxes should return, and complained that disabled immigrants could vote.
She was a “hero" when she said child rape is part of Latino culture, called 9/11 widows "harpies”, used terms like "retards" and "f***ots, and advocated killing Occupy Wall St. protesters.
You know, she didn't all of the sudden turn anti-Semitic, geniuses. You still loved her in 2007 when she said Jews required “perfecting" into Christians. She later ranted about the "f-ing Jews" getting too much attention in the presidential race.
Ann only recently became "the worst person in the world" because she supported Trump. She is, and has always been, a monster. But NOW she's a problem. You know as well as I do you that you would still be defending her if she was advocating for Ted Cruz or another one of your conservative losers.
No GOP candidate has ever denounced Ann Coulter, and we Democrats have to get better at tying people like her to the GOP candidates who secretly appreciate her hateful rants. Somebody is buying all of her books… and it's not us. She is, as she always has been, the vile heart of the GOP base.
RedState and others have supported her throughout her entire career of attacking the disabled, minorities, gays, and Jews. They are just pissed now that she joined with the one candidate who decided to be open about it.
