Donald Trump has won the presidency. The unthinkable has happened. Democrats have lost the Supreme Court for two generations or more. Climate Change is going go on and we have basically killed our chance at saving the planet.
If you thought the hate we saw during the primaries on the republican side was real, get ready for Bush the Trumper (cocain edition) where they install the worst of republican hold overs in unimportant places like The EPA or FBI.
The Bush years are gonna look mighty great. There is no silver lining today. This is the day America elected Hitler.
At long last Kos, DNC, and anyone else, are you going to listen to Progressives?
*Focusing on Trump on the front page was idiotic. People told you that. Over and over. Only republicans are motivated by fear and hatred in larger numbers. Democrats respond to hope and change. Focusing on voting against Trump and not for a big things we depressed our base.
*Tim Kaine? I mean really? The most contentious progressive primary is waged and Clinton picks white bread Tim Kaine when the zeitgeist was we needed a Warren on the ticket. Who didn't find Kaine inspiring when he went on TV and said we have to come together and work with republicans? I mean come on DNC. Over and over we told you that boring white guy is not a substitute for Bernie Sanders.
*Don’t want to re-fight the primaries? Too fucking bad. Over and over the group who Sanders over performed with were working class white men who we were expressly told didn't matter now that inter-sectional politics was coming of age. Hah. Well Boomers, and DNC, y'all were wrong .
This election was about “a rigged system”.
Get it?
Sanders did in a leftist version.
However, now we are getting fake populism in the form of President Trump.
Pipeline protests? Bah. Small potatoes now. Get ready for those dystopian movies millennials always spend money to go see becoming a reality.
This election was about a “rigged system” and who was going to go to Washington and bring the anger. Bernie? Angry socialist white guy would have been able to do that.
Clinton is the embodiment of the establishment. Politics 101 said that if our candidate has really crappy unfavorable then maybe we shouldn’t run one who’s saving grace was that she wasn’t as disliked as Trump. Well, the racists have spoken. The reactionaries have come out in force. They wanted to drag themselves over glass to vote against Clinton and they did.
That race in Florida where Schumer pulled out all that money and now failed to knock out Rubio? Good job Chuck. Didn’t listen. Doubt you ever will. How will minority leadership suit you? Gonna work with republicans now to get “financial reform” done *cough*.
Has DWS stepped down yet? Is that something that is gonna happen or did happen?
Our party needs to change. We need to listen to the youth. Sanders was our moment to be able to break the mold of the DNC and have a political realignment. We missed it.
You under estimated how willing the GOP was willing to drag itself over broken glass to vote against Clinton while shunning those who said it.
You missed the zeitgeist of the time. We needed a populist to be able to counter their fake populism. Never underestimate how racist, anti women, and evil GOP voters are.
The lesson here is that we need bold progressive policies. The lesson is that we need more Sanders and less Clinton's in our party.
We have lost the Supreme Court for two generations.
We have turned the reins of power over to a mad man who is going to empower the most racist and vile of our nation.
We didn't take the house and didn't come close to retaking the senate.
there is nothing to prevent the wildest conservative wet dreams. It's game over for muslims, for immigrants, for anyone different than white American.
How did we go from electing our first black president to electing one endorsed by the KKK?
if the lesson the party takes after this election is that they have to be more like republicans to win; they are wrong.
Already people are blaming third party voters or lazy millennials. Well fuck that, next time the party is split on generational lines in a primary; don't Elect the person who a great deal of the youth is telling you won't win.
Our party has a lot of soul searching to do for the next four years. Let’s hope no more Supremes court justices die. Let’s hope the planet can hold on for a little longer so we can work towards getting clean energy going. Let’s hope we don’t build a wall. Let’s hope that democrats put up a fight worth fighting and obstruct everything Trump wants to get down over the next four years. There literally is no choice.
The lesson the DNC, and hopefully Kos will learn is that fear is not a good motivator for democrats, you can’t run an establishment candidate when people yearn for revolution and are angry, and that catering to the 1%, at the expense of ignoring working class people, will lead to more abject failure.
We need hope.

Goodbye Obamacare. They can abolish it now.
goodbye Roe V Wade — they can abolish it now
Good bye democracy.
It’s a hard fact to face that we live in an oligarchy.
How far will the markets crash today?
