Activists are gathering together for the upcoming resistance. In New York, various groups that supported Bernie have joined together into the New York Progressive Action Network:
More than 25 grass-roots groups signed on to lobby together for campaign-finance reform, single-payer health insurance, more aid for public schools, a ban on fracking and other goals, said leaders of the New York Progressive Action Network, the name of the coalition.

NYPAN leaders said they want to ensure the protection of Muslims, immigrants and others who they see as vulnerable under the administration of President-elect Donald Trump.

More than 550 people from across the state registered to attend, and the groups in the coalition have thousands of members. Mayor Bill de Blasio stopped by to express his support.
Several coalition leaders said they decided in July at the Democratic National Convention that they should band together to keep fighting income inequality, a hallmark of Mr. Sanders’s campaign.

This is what the political revolution is about, and we need it more than ever after Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party’s defeat at the polls.
What some may never understand here:
‘It’s not about him. It was never really about him. It was about the principles.’
—Kelleigh McKenzie of Ulster Progressive Action
Many of us have formed a group blog on Daily Kos called The Political Revolution. Its focus is on left progressive politics and movements. While many of us were supporters of Bernie, it’s not just about him. It’s about issues and organizing, working together. Many of us support Ellison for Dem Party Chair.
We believe in issue activism and electoral politics. One without the other won’t work. We supported NODAPL and have and will support other economic, environmental and social justice movements.
We are not economic determinists; we understand that racial, gender and other forms of discrimination cannot be reduced merely to economic or class oppression. We also believe that the Great Economic Inequality is both immoral and a threat to our democracy. We oppose racism, sexism, and class exploitation.
We’re here for the long haul. First taking the Senate and House in 2018, taking state legislatures, then defeating Trump, then changing this nation.
