So the douchebag Steven Crowder is at it again. With this
Here’s the video in question:
And in the first paragraph we get this.
So here I was semi-enjoying life when along came this video about how all white people are horrible, and all “people of color” are their victims. Aside from the amateur animation (we won’t hold it against them, because affirmative action) the premise of the video is nearly as frightening as the fact it’s being shown in high schools across the country.
Yeah, Steve, the 80s called, they want their dogwhistle back.
And then his racism becomes good old fashioned ignorance
The video’s premise is incredibly racist on its face, painting white people–specifically white men–as the winner of all things, while black people are helpless, with no ability to overcome the obstacles dropped in their way. Translation: white people = strong, black people = weak.
Yeah, it’s racist to claim that the legacy of 200 years of slavery, jim crow laws, lynchings, segregation, and ongoing discrimination and bigotry mean that blacks are at a disadvantage to whites.
Next Crowder gives us this ignorance
Side note, shouldn’t this video have taken place in a swimming pool and not on a track? When was the last time you saw a white athlete out pacing a black athlete on a track?
Obviously Crowder doesn’t watch a lot of Track and Field
Secondly, the video peppers in talking points without evidence to support it. One of my favorites is slavery. Yes, slavery did happen. In America. But slavery was not a racial thing for most of its existence. White people were also enslaved. Slavery was, for thousands of years, equal opportunity.
Maybe it was, but for the last 500 years of its existence it was a race thing. First the native Americans, then Africans, and the reason for it was that the Europeans decided that they were inferior races and it was their duty to enslave them, so it was a race thing. Saying otherwise just really shows Crowder’s stupidity.
Furthermore, how does past slavery affect the “people of color” (that is the newest PC term, right?) of today?
Simple, the legacy of slavery in the form of discrimination by whites still hurts blacks to this day
Obviously facts are not important in this video. Only feelings. Life is unfair, but it’s more unfair for black people, and more than fair for white men. Do not question it, you’re a racist if you do. You also have white privilege. The nerve.
Well, Mr. Crowder, if in the face of overwhelming evidence you have the nerve to question whether blacks have it worse than whites, then you are either racist or very, very, stupid (or both).
Here’s my biggest issue with this video: the message it sends to young minds. To black Americans it says: the world is stacked against you. You’re just a victim of life, accept it. Take a helping hand from affirmative action, it’ll level the playing field. Somehow affirmative action will also prevent a premature death, imprisonment, and having children out of wedlock.
So Crowder is angry that this video tells the truth.
To white men, this video says: you’re all jerks. You do not accomplish anything, everything is handed to you. You’ve been winning at life since you were born to your probably married white parents, you non-bastard. Screw you. You’ll skate through life with fat stacks and more luck than you deserve. Even though it’s total BS
Well, the fact that employers prefer white people with criminal records to blacks without shows that it’s not total BS.
Solution? You privileged crapsticks should cater to those poor victims, the people of color. They need you white people taken out of the equation so they can succeed. Wait…how is that not racist? How is the premise of this video not hinting that “people of color” need white men to fail so they might succeed?
This isn’t making white men fail, it’s putting blacks and whites on more equal terms. Discrimination gives whites an advantage in the job market, so MAYBE giving blacks a college degree would cancel it out.
So, what we have here is really a very sad man who is projecting his victim mentality onto others.
