In a sign of the twilight zone we’re in with regards to politics, I found this ad over at Red State while not hearing a peep about it on Daily Kos.
It’s a powerful ad released by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which expertly ties the most vulnerable Republican Senators running for re-election to their party’s radioactive front-runner, Donald Trump:
What was I doing over at redstate? I occasionally like to take a breather from the Dkos bubble to keep tabs on what the other side is doing.
I have to say the meltdown over Trump at redstate and other conservative sites like National Review has been epic. This is redstate’s take on the ad:
But who among us didn’t predict that this would happen? Trump is a poster child for all of the awful stereotypes the GOP has battled off for decades. Trump being championed as the Republican front-runner is basically handing power back to the Democrats on a silver platter.
Democrats only need five seats to gain back power of the Senate, or four if they also win the Presidency. Recent polling data and common sense suggest that if Trump is the nominee, no one can stop them from winning the Presidency, why couldn’t they get those four seats needed?
And who is to blame? Our party has literally given them all the material they need.
But this response from one of their readers takes the cake. It perfectly sums up the rending of garments on the right over Trump:

The GOP is like a cow with a rope around its neck being led to Trump's slaughterhouse. They seem so unwilling to resist, instead marching along day by day, knowing full well that death is the ultimate outcome of their journey.
Who will save the GOP from its death march?
HAHAHAHA couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of folks. You built that.
Republican tears are delicious. Keep it coming :)
