As a wise person once said, “When you are in a hole quit digging.” Apparently the Fraternal Order of Police never heard this sound piece of advice. On October, 20 2014 Officer Jason Van Dyke shot 17 year old Laquan McDonald 16 times in the back as he was walking away from the cop. Instead of removing this killer cop, the Fraternal Order of Police did everything in their power to cover for Van Dyke. As a matter of fact, one person even referred to them as the Fraternal Order of Propaganda.

Nonetheless, the video of the shooting came out a mere 13+ months later (no thanks to the FOP) and Jason Van Dyke was charged with first degree murder that same day. Van Dyke posted $150,000 and was subsequently released on bond. Unfortunately he was currently out of work and for some reason companies don’t like hiring individuals who shoot other people repeatedly in the back. Luckily the Fraternal Order of Police arrived like a knight in shining armor and offered him a job as a janitor.

FOP President Dean Angelo Sr. explained his decision in the following terms:
“We do this for our membership and this is what the FOP stands for, fraternalism. This officer is in a very difficult situation, financially, he has a family and we would do it for anybody that works as a Chicago Police officer.”
In my humble opinion the best way to keep your family afloat is not to lose your job because you shot someone in the back 16 times, but then again what do I know.
Dean Angelo Sr. then went on to say:
“This is not the first time we've employed someone in our building that could not gain employment due to the nature of the event that they've been involved in.”
Pray tell who are these other people they feel the need to employ? Enquiring minds want to know.

Now I am not going to pretend to be a public relations guru, but this seems like a new low for the Fraternal Order of Police (and that is saying something). And I am not alone in this sentiment. Father Michael Pfleger stated:
“The FOP hiring him sends a hell of a message to the city of Chicago and the citizens of Chicago saying ‘we don’t care what you think, we don’t care what he did, we defend him no matter what.’”

I was wondering if my fellow Kossacks in and out of Chicago might know who to contact in order to get Jason Van Dyke re-unemployed.
