Nevada Assemblywoman Michele Fiore, who was front and center of both the Bundy family led armed standoffs in Nevada and in Oregon, is aiming her sight on higher office. Riding high on the media exposure she received after negotiating with the four holdout militants during the Oregon standoff, she’s announced on her website her intention to run for U.S. Congress:
I invite you to join me this Wednesday at 10:30 am at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway on the first floor in the Pubelo room as I file the paperwork to become your next Congresswoman. I hope to see you there.
I’d like you to join us as we kick off the campaign with a “bang” Saturday March 26 at the Pro Gun Club.
At that event, she’ll be auctioning a gun she personally made with the help of a Nevada gun maker. She shared a video featuring herself, the gun and Rifle Dynamics owner Jim Fuller, who described Fiore as "the most pro-gun political candidate" he’s ever met in his life. He says she’s even more pro-gun than he is. That’s probably true, even her family Christmas cards feature guns:
Yes, even the young boy in that picture appears to be holding a gun.
She is part part of the “land seizure movement”, which aims to take federal lands and turn it over to private citizens and companies for private profit. The Center for Western Priorities has noted the connection between anti-government extremist groups and lawmakers like Fiore:
The center traces much of the land transfer efforts back to last year's standoff at the Bundy ranch between Bureau of Land Management agents and armed supporters of rancher Cliven Bundy.
"It's clear that what happened at the Bundy ranch has inspired some groups as well as some state lawmakers across the West to try to implement policies that are designed to take American lands away from the American people," Goad said.
The center is also concerned about the connections these lawmakers have to groups like the Oath Keepers, which they consider to be an anti-government extremist group.
The Center for Western Priorities notes that Fiore publicly took the Oath Keepers oath while at the Bundy Ranch standoff in 2014. Below is a list of orders people like Fiore have sworn to disobey. Read it and ask yourself—is this someone who should be serving in the United States Congress?

Aside from supporting armed militants and trying to achieve the dream of arming every single U.S. citizen, she was also in the news after once claiming cancer is a fungus that can be flushed with baking soda.
She’ll be running in Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District. It is currently represented by Joseph Heck, who is now running for the U.S. Senate.
