I see some are getting upset over the press releases issued by President Obama and Hillary Clinton that praises Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. I get why they’d be upset, but this is standard operating procedure for when you force someone who’s so reviled to step down. President Obama himself had to tell her on the phone to actually step down and not to gavel in and out at the convention. And she is no longer on the DNC as a result of that.
And that whole “honorary chairwoman” of the 50-state strategy? That has no real power, and DWS will just be a surrogate as she already is. I’m not bothered by that. Why? Her stepping down from the DNC and her involvement in the email scandal is already damaging enough in her primary race against Canova.
It is precisely why we should be rooting for Canova to win, and to donate to him. Let Debbie Wasserman-Schultz be a forgettable footnote in the history of the Democratic Party with no real tangible lasting power or results from her supposed “achievements” to get actual Democrats elected.
And it’s already certain that the next DNC chair will be more productive and be a much better DNC chairperson than Debbie ever was.
