Sometimes it may seem as if Trump is perpetually moving from one outrage to the next. At first glance this may seem to be spontaneous assholery. However his outrages do have a pattern and are very predictable. Trump will always verbally escalate when:
1) He wants to bury a previous outrage. By hinting about a possible Clinton assasination, Trump is simply trying to create a new outrage to bury the more destructive birtherism debacle. The birtherism debate is more destructive since it reminds those voters who may have forgotten that Trump is essentially a bigot/racist.
2) Trump will always verbally escalate whenever he wants to deny Clinton press. The best example is when Trump attacked the Khan family during DNC. Trump caused so much outrage that not many people remember what Clinton said during her DNC speech. The same thing happened when Clinton wanted to give her economic speech, Trump went on to say Obama founded ISIS
3) Of course he is also prone to verbal diarrhoea like many bullies do
