Hannity says "Purge the Government", so Trump does it. Updated: NY US Attorney refuses, gets fired

This is Sean Hannity on Thursday Night. 

Hannity blamed Trump’s scandal-ridden first months in office on people from the previous administration who were still working in government. He made the assertion on the same day news broke about former national security adviser Michael Flynn concealing foreign lobbying work from the Justice Department, and hours after the Office of Government Ethics criticized the White House for failing to penalize adviser Kellyanne Conway when she plugged first daughter Ivanka Trump’s products on national television.

“It’s very important for President Trump to act right now,” Hannity said. “He’s gotta end the leaks that are plaguing this administration.”

The Fox News host said these “Obama holdovers” had gone “so low” as to “insinuate without any evidence that there’s some sort of campaign collusion with Russia.”

No, actually that’s been alleged by a ton of reporting including info from inside the Trump campaign and foreign intel services — but that’s not the point here. The point is what Fox News addict Trump did on Friday after Hannity said this.

On Friday the Trump administration dumped 46 U.S. Attorneys who had been Obama holdovers.  This doesn’t mean they have to leave when new replacements for their positions are found and nominated, it meant — LEAVE NOW.  Immediately.  Even the U.S.A. for the Southern District of New York whom Trump has personally asked to say on.  What gives?

(That is in additional to the fact that Mike Pence could not have possibly not known that Michael Flynn was a lobbyist for Turkey after he was personally informed by member of Congress about it)

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration moved on Friday to sweep away most of the remaining vestiges of Obama administration prosecutors at the Justice Department, ordering 46 holdover United States attorneys to tender their resignations immediately — including Preet Bharara, the United States attorney in Manhattan.

The firings were a surprise — especially for Mr. Bharara, who has a reputation for prosecuting public corruption cases and for investigating insider trading. In November, Mr. Bharara met with then President-elect Donald J. Trump at Trump Tower in Manhattan and told reporters afterward that both Mr. Trump and Jeff Sessions, who is now the attorney general, had asked him about staying on, which the prosecutor said he expected to do.

But on Friday, Mr. Bharara was among federal prosecutors who received a call from Dana Boente, the acting deputy attorney general, instructing him to resign, according to a person familiar with the matter. As of Friday evening, though some of the prosecutors had publicly announced their resignations, Mr. Bharara had not. A spokesman for Mr. Bharara declined to comment.

Because Mr. Bharara’s jurisdiction includes Manhattan, he would be under normal circumstances be the  prosecutor looking into corruption by the Trump organization.  For example their involvement with criminal investors including Iran’s Republican Guard in a Trump licensed property in Baku, Azerbaijan.  Or perhaps whether or not Trump campaign surrogates made a deal with Russians to adjust the Republican platform on Ukraine to be more pro-Russian in exchange for their continued hacking and leaking of inside information from the DNC and Hillary Clinton campaign?

Bharara, unless a Special Prosecutor is named, would have been the guy handing that.

Now he’s been asked to resign, even after Trump personally met with him and asked him in person to stay on.

Because Sean Hannity said so.

What the fucking hell is going on?  Sean Hannity runs our country now?

Manhattan US Attorney Preet Bharara has refused to leave his post until Trump fires him directly.

U.S. Attorney Bharara has been official fired, because he defied the request to resign.

Preet Bharara, the Manhattan federal prosecutor who was asked by President Trump to remain in his post shortly after the election, was fired on Saturday after he refused an order to submit his resignation.

Mr. Bharara’s dismissal capped a brief but highly unusual showdown in which a political appointee installed by Mr. Trump’s predecessor, President Barack Obama, declined an order to submit a resignation.

He told the world what had happened on Twitter.

“I did not resign. Moments ago I was fired. Being the US Attorney in SDNY will forever be the greatest honor of my professional life,” Mr. Bharara wrote on his personal feed, which he set up in the past two weeks.
